«Mi tío Napoleón» is the comic novel by Iraj Pezeshkzad, published by Ático de los Libros in paperback (720 pages, in Spanish).
In 1940s Tehran, an eccentric patriarch who idolizes Napoleon imposes his tyranny on the family. The young narrator falls in love with his cousin Layli, the tyrant's daughter, and that love unleashes intrigues, conspiracies, tolerated adulteries, lies and secrets. With humor and tenderness, the novel portrays Iranian society of the time.
The translation from Persian was done by Víctor Fuentes Morata and Nazanín Amirian. The work has been banned in Iran since the Islamic revolution of 1979.
