«Nerón, diario de un emperador» is the historical novel by Pedro Gálvez, published by Mondadori in paperback (249 pages, in Spanish).
After ordering the death of his mother Agrippina, Nero pours his memories into a diary: his rise to the throne, his marriage to Claudius's daughter, and his murky family relations. Amid parricidal remorse, artistic ambitions, and fear of living, he paints a portrait of first-century Rome, with its splendor and corruption.
Published in 2002, it is part of the Mitos histórica collection.
For readers of historical fiction interested in imperial Rome and an intimate view of one of its most controversial emperors.
