During the preparation of the film "Little Buddha," Giovanni Mastrangelo, a collaborator of director Bernardo Bertolucci, traveled for months through the Buddhist universe, exploring the monasteries and the different worlds that inhabit them. While drafting the film's subject, on which he worked with Bertolucci and Fabien Gerard from the spring of 1991, Mastrangelo also wrote this story in the form of a fable about the life of Prince Siddhartha, from his birth to his enlightenment.
