«Programming Jakarta Struts» is the technical Java web development guide by Chuck Cavaness, published by O'Reilly in paperback (450 pages, in English).
The book explains Apache's Struts 1.1 framework for building Java web applications, combining servlets, JavaServer Pages, custom tags, and message resources into a reusable platform. It covers the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern, validation, logging, Tiles, internationalization, and best practices, and includes chapters on security and integration with JSF, JSTL, and Expression Language.
The second edition, revised and expanded, was published on July 27, 2004 with the subtitle 'Building Web Applications with Servlets & JSPs'.
For Java developers working with enterprise web applications, both those new to Struts and those already experienced with the framework.
