«Retrait de marché» is the satirical novel by Clément Caliari, published by Gallimard in paperback (274 pages, in French).
France, 1950s. Louis Lémure, a pharmaceutical engineer obsessed with De Gaulle, believes he is a savior. His almost universal antibiotic causes two hundred deaths, malformations, and victims who join forces to understand the disaster. Lémure flees to Algeria. A corrosive, well-documented satire that anticipates corporate scandals.
It is Clément Caliari's first novel; the book was released on February 3, 2011, in the nrf collection.
