«Rubbish Pet Portraits» is the humor book by Hercule Van Wolfwinkle, published by HarperCollins in hardcover (128 pages, in English).
Collection of «extremely realistic» pet portraits: the author draws dogs, cats, ferrets and other animals in a deliberately clumsy style. Each page sets the original photo against the disastrous result and a review from the bewildered owner, whose comments heighten the absurd humor of the whole.
It was a The Sunday Times bestseller in May 2021 and his portraits have raised tens of thousands of pounds for Turning Tides, a local charity for homeless people.
An ideal gift for animal lovers with a sense of humor and for those who enjoy absurd humor and naïve art.
