«Rutas metropolitanas por la nueva Barcelona» is Xavier Antich's urban route guide, published by MACBA in paperback (148 pages, in Spanish).
It collects itineraries through Barcelona and its surroundings developed by students of the MACBA's PEI program. There are three blocks —Works and Powers, Confluences and Dispersions, Representations—, inspired by a photographic survey (2006-2008) linked to the exhibition «El archivo universal». It maps urban transformations since the 1980s.
It corresponds to the 2006-2007 academic year of the MACBA's Independent Studies Program (PEI) and is the first edition, published on December 4, 2008.
Aimed at readers interested in Barcelona, contemporary art, architecture and the transformation of the urban landscape.
