«Sagen aus Pommern» is Siegfried Neumann's anthology of legends, published by Rowohlt in paperback (413 pages, in German).
The volume brings together traditional legends and tales from Pomerania: historical episodes, narratives about the region's Christianization, and stories of ghosts and supernatural beings. The rural, nocturnal atmosphere, with apparitions and inexplicable events, brings the fantastic close to everyday life.
Originally published in 1994, the title belongs to Rowohlt's rororo collection; the cover shows a nocturnal scene with a moon and silhouettes.
A title for readers interested in folklore, regional history, and the oral traditions of Pomerania.
