«Shikasta» is the science fiction novel by Doris Lessing, published by Minotauro in hardcover (520 pages, in Spanish).
The work is presented as a compilation of documents, reports, letters and diaries that tell the story of Shikasta, the Canopean name for Earth. The emissary Johar observes for millennia how galactic empires vie for the planet while the influence of Shammat pushes its inhabitants towards war, famine, disease and environmental disasters.
It belongs to the Canopus in Argos: Archives series, of which it is the first volume; the work was originally published in 1979 as Re: Colonised Planet 5, Shikasta.
For readers of speculative science fiction who appreciate a narrative constructed as an archive of documents.
