Storia di una capinera es una novela epistolar del escritor italiano Giovanni Verga, publicada en 1871. La historia narra la vida de una joven destinada a la vida monástica por su madrastra. Durante un breve período, la joven abandona el convento y regresa con su familia al campo, donde experimenta las alegrías de la vida y el amor. Sin embargo, su felicidad es efímera, y una serie de desgracias se abaten sobre ella, llevándola de vuelta a su destino inicial.
