«The Carbon Diaries 2017» is the dystopian young adult novel by Saci Lloyd, published by Hodder Children's Books in paperback (416 pages, in English).
Laura Brown narrates in her diary a 2017 London subject to carbon rationing, between college and gigs with her band, The Dirty Angels. Riots, drought, a war over water and the arrival of immigrants launch her into a European tour that becomes a flight, with friendship, betrayal and love as backdrop.
Second installment of the «Carbon Diaries» series, after «The Carbon Diaries 2015», which was a finalist for the Costa Book Award.
Recommended for young and adult readers seeking climate dystopias with a teenage protagonist and social awareness.
