«The Catch» is Mark Mason's romantic comedy novel, published by Time Warner Books UK in paperback (311 pages, in English).
The protagonist, Sam, proposes to Kirsty, and she accepts on one condition: for twelve weeks she will secretly score his behavior and will only marry him if he reaches 1000 points. Ironing or putting down the toilet seat doesn't improve his score, so he turns to his friends and his colleague Amanda to find out what women expect.
The novel was published on February 12, 2004; the cover bears the slogan «One man. One woman. One problem.»
For readers of romantic comedy and chick lit interested in relationships and everyday cohabitation.
