«Und trotzdem eine Picasso. Leben im Schatten meines Großvaters» is the autobiography of Marina Picasso: 198 pages, hardcover, in German.
Marina Picasso, granddaughter of Pablo Picasso, remembers her childhood in the shadow of the artist: the visits to La Californie, the oppressiveness of the family atmosphere and the suicides of her grandmother Olga and of her brother Pablito. The book also asks whether creative greatness justifies the suffering of those around the genius.
The work was written with the collaboration of Louis Valentin and translated from French by Dora Toblach; the hardcover edition was published in 2001.
For readers of biographies and art history, and for those who want to know the human side of Picasso's circle.
