Jayne Bauling was born in London but grew up in South Africa after moving there at a very young age.
She began her literary career by publishing romance novels with Mills & Boon starting in 1978.
Her initial shyness about her writing vanished after she published her first poems as a teenager.
After moving to White River, she decided to reinvent her writing style by focusing on young adult fiction.
She has received prestigious honors such as the Macmillan Writer’s Prize for Africa and the Maskew Miller Longman Literature Award.
