Synopsis of 12

Twelve jurors must decide the fate of a young Chechen man accused of murdering his adoptive father, a Russian army officer. Set almost entirely within a gymnasium, the film explores the tensions, prejudices, and moral dilemmas of the jury members as they deliberate on the defendant's guilt in this intense courtroom drama directed by Nikita Mikhalkov. Nominated for the 2008 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, this is a powerful reflection on justice and the human condition.
