«Amadeus: El Montaje del Director» is the film by Milos Forman starring F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce, released on DVD in 2002.
In eighteenth-century Vienna, Antonio Salieri, court composer to Emperor Joseph II, recalls from the asylum his relationship with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Eclipsed by the genius of a young and irreverent Mozart, Salieri lets envy consume him until he plots his downfall. This director's cut adds twenty minutes of unseen footage.
PAL DVD (region 2), 174 minutes, audio in English and Spanish, subtitles in ten languages and a universal rating. Produced by Saul Zaentz, it won eight Academy Awards, including best picture, best director and best actor.
For fans of historical drama and Mozart's music, both those who already know the film and those approaching this extended version for the first time.
