Asignatura Pendiente is a 1977 Spanish film directed by José Luis Garci. The plot follows José, a married lawyer, and Elena, a married housewife, who meet again after twenty years. This reunion provokes a nostalgia for their adolescent love and leads them to seek an escape from their unsatisfactory marriages, in a context marked by the last years of the Franco regime and the beginnings of the Spanish Transition.
