«Battle Royale» is the movie by Kinji Fukasaku (2000), starring Takeshi Kitano, Tatsuya Fujiwara and Aki Maeda, on DVD.
In the near future, Japan passes the BR Act, which forces a secondary school class to take part in a deadly game on an island: each student receives weapons and supplies and they must eliminate each other until only one remains, with their teacher as supervisor. The film uses it as social criticism and of the loss of innocence, mixing violence and suspense.
