In a Castilian convent at the end of the 19th century, the Mother Superior receives a grave diagnosis from the doctor, Don José. Shortly after, the sister porter takes in a girl abandoned at the door. Don José offers to adopt her and place her as a pupil at the convent; the girl's arrival fills the community with life and joy.
