Casbah is a 1948 musical film directed by John Berry and starring Yvonne De Carlo, Tony Martin, and Peter Lorre. The plot follows Pepe Le Moko, a master thief who lives in the Casbah section of Algiers, protected by his vast network of criminals. A French police inspector tries to capture him, but Pepe falls in love with a tourist, leading him to plan his exit from his 'empire'. However, he is betrayed and shot down by the police as he emerges from his sanctuary.
