Dark Star is a science fiction comedy directed by John Carpenter that follows the crew of the spaceship Dark Star, who have spent years in space on a mission to destroy unstable stars. Isolated and bored, the astronauts pass the time philosophizing about life, caring for a strange alien creature, and dealing with intelligent bombs that refuse to detonate because they are too busy reflecting on their own existence. This DVD edition presents the film in its original format, offering a unique look at Carpenter's directorial debut and a cult classic for genre fans.
