Dinner for One, also known as 'Der 90. Geburtstag', is a classic 1963 British comedy sketch that has become an essential television tradition in Germany and other European countries on New Year's Eve. The story follows elderly Miss Sophie, who celebrates her 90th birthday by inviting her four closest friends to dinner. Since they have all passed away, her loyal butler James must play each of the guests, leading to hilarious and chaotic situations as the alcohol takes its toll.
This DVD edition features the iconic performances of Freddie Frinton as James and May Warden as Miss Sophie. With a runtime of 11 minutes, this sketch is a masterpiece of physical comedy and repetition, capturing the essence of an unforgettable evening where the phrase 'The same procedure as last year?' becomes the centerpiece of a timeless comedy.
