«Dolls» is the Japanese movie by Takeshi Kitano (2002), starring Miho Kanno, on DVD.
Three intertwined love stories: a young man who breaks off his engagement due to family pressure; an elderly yakuza boss who returns to the park where he abandoned his girlfriend; and a pop star with a bandaged face whose most devoted fan reappears. Inspired by bunraku theater dolls, it unites these tales of loss, sacrifice and devotion.
DVD region 2, PAL 16:9, Dolby Digital AC-3, 1 disc. Languages: Japanese and Spanish; Spanish subtitles. Approximate running time: 115 minutes.
A proposal for fans of auteur cinema, especially those who appreciate Takeshi Kitano in his contemplative vein, far from action.
