«Dune» is David Lynch's 1984 science fiction movie, with Kyle MacLachlan, Virginia Madsen and Francesca Annis, on DVD.
Adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel of the same name, «Dune» presents a complex political intrigue on a desert planet inhabited by giant sandworms, where a spice of enormous value is found. Lynch deploys an ambitious mise-en-scène, with dreamlike imagery, a deliberately strange tone and the soundtrack by Toto, supported by a large ensemble cast.
Color edition, widescreen 2.35:1, region 2. Audio tracks in English and French (PCM surround), with French subtitles.
For fans of science fiction and David Lynch's cult adaptations.
