«El bosque animado» is the film by José Luis Cuerda starring Alfredo Landa, Encarna Paso and Fernando Valverde, on DVD.
In a forest, a bandit, a well-digger, a working girl, a young man reluctant to work, a girl who emigrates and a ghost cross paths. Against them are the lords of the manor and the summer visitors; the train skirting the forest unites and separates them. The story blends costumbrismo, fantasy, humor and social criticism, with witchcraft and ancestral fears.
Suevia Films edition. Audio in Spanish, subtitles in Albanian and Afrikaans. Region 2, running time 108 minutes.
Classic Spanish cinema film, for fans of José Luis Cuerda and of costumbrista humor with a social background.
