«El bufón del rey» is the theatrical show by Moncho Borrajo, released on DVD in 1998 by Suspiro Producciones.
A jester in the court of King Juan Carlos I of Spain lives confined in an attic so the monarch won't find out what's happening in the country. The visit of an imaginary king lets him talk about emigration, racism, politics and other issues of 1990s Spain, through twelve musical numbers performed with his group.
The work is by Moncho Borrajo, with musical direction by Guillermo Cortázar and choreography by Marvin Salas. The two DVDs (region 2) run 157 minutes and include an image gallery, suitable for all audiences.
