«El espíritu de la colmena» is Víctor Erice's 1973 film, starring Ana Torrent, Fernando Fernán Gómez and Teresa Gimpera, on DVD.
In a Castilian village during the postwar period, sisters Isabel, aged eight, and Ana, aged six, watch «El doctor Frankenstein» at the movie theater. The film impresses Ana so much that she begins to search for the monster in the surroundings, blurring the line between reality and fantasy.
The film won the Golden Shell at the 1973 San Sebastián International Film Festival. Edition by El País from the 'Un país de cine' collection.
For those who appreciate classic Spanish cinema and stories about childhood and memory.
