Four young Athenian lovers flee to the forest to resolve their romantic conflicts and there meet a group of amateur actors rehearsing a play. Meanwhile, Oberon and Titania, the fairy kings, argue, and the mischievous Puck casts a spell that tangles the night even further. The result is a dreamlike comedy of mistaken identities and magic.
