«Elephant» is the movie by Gus Van Sant (2003), starring Eric Deulen and Alex Frost, on DVD.
Elephant depicts an apparently ordinary school day at an American high school and follows several students through classes, hallways and everyday encounters. With an observant camera and a semi-improvised tone, the film, performed by non-professional teenagers, lets the tension grow until the day stops being normal.
Winner of the Palme d'Or and the Best Director award at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. The Optimum DVD edition contains one disc.
For those seeking independent auteur cinema and realistic dramas with a documentary gaze.
