«Esplendor en la hierba» is the 1961 Elia Kazan movie starring Natalie Wood, Warren Beatty and Pat Hingle, on DVD with a book by Gregorio Belinchón.
In a small Kansas town, the love between Deanie and Bud clashes with the rigid morality of their families. When the relationship breaks down, emotional repression pushes Deanie into a serious personal crisis. William Inge's screenplay turns that heartbreak into a portrait of social hypocrisy and the cost of unexpressed desires.
