«Excalibur» is the fantasy movie directed by John Boorman (1981), starring Nigel Terry, Helen Mirren and Nicholas Clay, on DVD.
Excalibur adapts the Arthurian legend: the rise of young Arthur to the throne of Britain, the deeds of the Knights of the Round Table in search of the Holy Grail and the intrigues of the court of Camelot, with Merlin and his arts as a key element. The sword of the title, the battles for power and the medieval setting articulate a fantastic epic.
