«Hero» is the movie by Zhang Yimou (2002), starring Jet Li, Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung, on DVD.
In third-century BC China, a warrior named Nameless presents himself before the ruler of Qin and recounts how he has defeated his three most dangerous enemies. The monarch doubts his account and, amid conflicting stories, memory, deception and honor come to the fore. The film combines martial arts duels, epic drama and a stylized visual aesthetic.
Two-disc DVD edition, with 96 minutes of footage. Audio in Italian (Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS 6.1) and Chinese (5.1); Italian subtitles. Distributed by Eagle Pictures.
For fans of martial arts cinema and epic drama of ancient China, with Quentin Tarantino's presentation as a selling point of this edition.
