«Juegos de Verano» is the 1950 Ingmar Bergman film, starring Maj-Britt Nilsson, Birger Malmsten and Alf Kjellin, on DVD.
After rehearsals for Swan Lake are cancelled, ballerina Marie travels to a small island. There, memories of Henrik, a young student in love with her, and the happy summer they shared come flooding back. The film wraps this evocation in a nostalgic atmosphere and offers an optimistic answer to the question of life's meaning.
Original title: Sommarlek. DVD edition from the Antología IB collection, published by Filmax Home Video, in original version with subtitles.
Will appeal to fans of classic European cinema and the filmography of Ingmar Bergman.
