«La estrella de África» is the war movie by Alfred Weidenmann (1957), starring Joachim Hansen and Marianne Koch, on DVD.
It tells the true story of Hans-Joachim Marseille, a German pilot nicknamed Star of Africa, who fought in North Africa during World War II. At the controls of a Messerschmitt Me 109 he achieved 158 shoot-downs of Allied aircraft, a record for such a young pilot: he died shortly before turning 23.
