«Las vírgenes suicidas» is Sofia Coppola's 1999 movie, starring Kirsten Dunst, Josh Hartnett and Kathleen Turner, on DVD.
In a Michigan suburb in the 1970s, the five Lisbon sisters, daughters of a teacher and a strict, religious mother, are watched and idealized by the neighborhood boys. The youngest's suicide intensifies that fascination and turns the film into a portrait of the end of innocence and adolescent desire.
This is a Region 2 edition, 96 minutes, one disc, with audio in English and Spanish, Spanish subtitles; its original title is The Virgin Suicides.
For adult viewers and fans of drama about adolescence; not recommended for children under 12.
