Adaptation of the novel by R.D. Blackmore set in rural 17th-century England. As a child, John Ridd witnesses the murder of his father at the hands of the Doone clan and swears revenge, but as he grows up he falls in love with Lorna, a young woman from the rival clan. The attraction between them clashes with the enmity of their families and with the secret of Lorna's true origins.
