«Los bingueros» is the comedy movie by Mariano Ozores (1979), starring Fernando Esteso and Andrés Pajares, on DVD.
Amadeo, a mediocre office worker, and Fermín, an unemployed man who does odd jobs, believe bingo will solve their lack of money. They meet while waiting in line at a gaming hall and soon fall into a spiral of vice: they resort to tricks, scams and thefts to keep playing, which brings them beatings and more debts. Everything becomes a job to get the next bet rather than a means to escape bad luck.
DVD edition from the Pajares/Esteso/Ozores collection, with original version in Spanish (mono) and 88 minutes. Not recommended for under-18s; includes audio commentary and interviews.
For lovers of Spanish cinema from the seventies and of popular comedy starring the Pajares-Esteso duo.
