It tells the story of Pepi, a nine-year-old girl from Málaga who in the late 1950s is chosen to become a child star in Madrid. Under the stage name Marisol, the little girl faces demanding training, marketing and industry pressure, while her family life suffers. The fiction follows her evolution into adulthood, her growing rebelliousness and her attempt to build a life of her own apart from the character that made her famous.
