Synopsis of Mississipi Massala
Ambientada en Uganda en 1972, la película narra la historia de una familia india de clase media que se ve obligada a abandonar el país tras la llegada al poder del tirano Idi Amin. Un abogado liberal, Roshan Seth, que ha defendido a personas negras ante los tribunales, junto con su esposa Sharmila Tagore y su hija Mina, toman el último vuelo de salida en un estado de sitio extraño y amenazante. La película sigue su viaje y adaptación en Estados Unidos, donde Mina se enamora de un joven afroamericano, interpretado por Denzel Washington, desafiando las barreras raciales y culturales.
