A masterful adaptation of Thomas Mann's novel directed by Luchino Visconti. The film follows Gustav von Aschenbach, a weary and ailing composer who travels to Venice seeking rest. There, he becomes captivated by the beauty of a young boy, leading him into a spiral of obsession and reflection on life, art, and decay. A masterpiece of European cinema that captures the melancholic and decadent atmosphere of early 20th-century Venice.
