A group of Viking women, whose husbands have not returned from their last expedition, build a ship and set out to find them. A whirlpool leads them to a giant sea serpent that destroys the vessel. The survivors reach the island of the Grimolts, where their men work as slaves in the mines; they must fight to free them.
