Betty, a small-town waitress, suffers a trauma after witnessing her husband's murder. In a state of shock, she develops a fantasy where she believes she is the fiancée of her favorite soap opera actor, Dr. David Ravell. Convinced that her destiny is to be with him, she embarks on a journey across the United States to find him, unaware that two hitmen are following her closely. It is a dark comedy and road movie that brilliantly blends reality and fiction.
