Marshal Carotenuto, after leaving the Carabinieri, returns to his hometown, Sorrento. There, he is received by his brother, Don Matteo, the town's parish priest, and by the corps of urban guards, whose command he will assume. However, he encounters a problem: he will not be able to live in his native home, as it is occupied by a young widow, Doña Sofía, a beautiful fishmonger known as "La brava". This classic Italian comedy, directed by Dino Risi and starring Vittorio De Sica and Sophia Loren, offers a charming look at life in 1950s Italy.
