American astrophysicist David Summer moves to his wife's village in Great Britain. He is a reserved and shy man who lives absorbed in his research and tries to avoid any dispute. However, the violence of certain individuals in the town reaches such an extreme that Summer, caught between a rock and a hard place, reacts with the same weapons as his aggressors to defend his wife and home. 'Straw Dogs' is a study of human violence based on the novel 'The Siege of Trencher's Farm' by Gordon M. Williams.
