«Sose halunk meg» is the Hungarian comedy movie directed and starring Róbert Koltai (1993), with Mihály Szabados and Gábor Máté, on DVD.
In 1960s Hungary, a traveling clothes-hanger salesman takes his teenage nephew on a trip to show him real life. The gap between the boy's formal education and his uncle's easy-going manner sustains a bittersweet comedy about family relationships.
Koltai's debut feature, 86 minutes; Hungary submitted it for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film (without reaching a nomination). Original in Hungarian, subtitles in English and German; PAL, region 2.
Aimed at cinephiles interested in Hungarian cinema and bittersweet comedies about sentimental education and bonds between generations.
