«Tasio» is the Spanish drama movie by Montxo Armendáriz, released by Manga Films on DVD.
The story follows Tasio, a man who grows up in the forest and, forced by necessity, becomes a charcoal burner at fourteen; as an adult, he combines that trade with poaching to support his wife, Paulina, and his daughter. When circumstances push men to seek steady work and emigrate to the city, Tasio prefers to keep his personal freedom and continue living in the mountains in absolute solitude.
Edition from the «Un país de cine 2» collection by El País, with Spanish audio, PAL format zone 2 and a running time of approximately 92 minutes.
Recommended for those seeking a Spanish rural drama from the eighties, with a human portrait and a connection to nature, in an edition distributed in association with a newspaper.
