«The Main Event» is the movie by Howard Zieff (1979), starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal, on DVD.
A ruined perfume magnate discovers among her assets a washed-up boxer and decides to turn him into her champion to recover her fortune. The unlikely pair clash inside and outside the ring, where the dialogue and romantic comedy tone turn the fight into a duel of wit and seduction in the Los Angeles of the era.
Approximate running time: 104 minutes. Distributed by Warner Home Video, with language options in English and French.
A comedy for those who enjoy great screen couples and classic screwball, like Streisand and O'Neal.
