«The Proposition» is the 2005 movie by John Hillcoat, starring Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone and John Hurt, on DVD.
Western set in colonial Australia of the 19th century: an outlaw must choose between loyalty to his brother and a pact with the law to save his life. The violence of the territory, the brutality of the settlers and the horror of the frontier turn the story into a tale without heroes, with a screenplay by Nick Cave.
Running time: 100 minutes. Original audio in English and subtitles in English, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Norwegian, Portuguese and Swedish. Region 4 edition (PAL).
Suitable for adult viewers and for those who appreciate raw westerns and Australian cinema; the MA 15+ rating warns of strong violence and coarse language.
