«Transcriptions» is a musical film by Andy Sommer, released on DVD by Naïve, featuring the Accentus choir conducted by Laurence Equilbey.
The program explores the transformation of instrumental works into choral music through transcriptions of pieces by Barber, Chopin, Debussy, Mahler, Prokofiev, Ravel, Schubert, Vivaldi, and Wagner. It combines performances at the Salle Pleyel with sequences filmed at the National Dance Center in Pantin, in a visual approach centered on the voice and the musical atmosphere.
This 2008 edition contains one 90-minute DVD in 16:9 widescreen format, NTSC and region-free, with 5.1 or PCM sound. It includes content in French, German, and Latin, French and English subtitles, an illustrated booklet and, as an extra, Ravel’s «Soupir».
For fans of classical music, choral singing, and musical audiovisual productions.
