«Tropic Thunder» is the satirical war comedy movie directed by Ben Stiller (2008), starring Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Stiller, on DVD.
A group of Hollywood actors shoots a war epic in the jungle; when the director abandons them, they find themselves trapped in a real conflict and must play their characters to survive. The film parodies the excesses of cinema and war movie clichés with irreverent humor and absurd situations.
Single disc with widescreen 2.35:1 picture and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound in English. Subtitles in English, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish. Approximate running time: 102 minutes.
For ages 15 and over: raucous comedy and satire of Hollywood cinema, with strong language, sexual references and comic violence.
